YMSS envisions a future where an entire generation embraces missional lives, living out the fullness of the Gospel in their everyday actions. We dream of a world where young individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, become living testaments of faith, carrying the transformative power of the Gospel into their local communities and beyond.
Our Mission
At YMSS, our mission is to guide young people into a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God, bridging the spiritual and the practical. We are committed to training and equipping them to lead missional lives, embodying the teachings of the Gospel in their daily actions. We aspire to challenge them, encouraging them to believe in their potential, reach for more, and journey further with God.
Our Objectives
- To train and mentor a dedicated group of young missionaries, shaping them into fervent disciples of faith.
- To propel these missionaries into their spheres of influence and marketplaces, inspiring them to reproduce more disciples of Jesus.
- To mobilise and broaden the network of young missionaries committed to fulfilling the Great Commission.
Who We Are & What do we do
The Young Missionaries Summer School (YMSS) is an interdenominational missionary training institution, working alongside RECSOM and YWAM. Based in Harpenden, England, we offer residential courses that train young individuals to shine as a light in their educational institutions and careers. Our approach blends spiritual lectures and practical experiences, fostering Christian character, understanding of mission, and crucial missionary skills. We value inclusivity, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds to learn and grow with us.

Over the years of partnering with God to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commision, we’ve come to realise and depend on our need for simply waiting on the Lord in a place of prayer. Above and only from this place of prayer do we receive strength and strategy to pursue all that God has revealed and asked that we do.

To emphasise, we cannot move and we will not go unless He sends us.

As we seek to engage all young people in all streams of society, through the various aspects of YMSS e.g. training schools, mission trips, and various other community building projects serving the call of the Great Commission, we invite you today to partner with us in financially.
As a mission partner you’re as much a part of the gospel work that we’re doing!

So, with the vision in mind as you prayerfully give, your giving will allow for the work to continue, expand and multiply in order that we would all see a generation ignited, hearts transformed and lives saved!

Whether a short-term trip or a local outreach weekend, we want to invite you to come and actually play your part in the gospel mission here at YMSS!
We also send groups of missions teams throughout the year with well-known mission organastions (YWAM, CAPRO and more) to bring the light of Christ to the nations!
As mentioned, we will train and equip with both the spiritual understanding and the practical tools to share God’s word to God’s world. (So not to worry if you’ve never been before)
